The Copy Shop was originally located in the Cairns Corporate Tower and owned by Di and Val Jones. Due to outgrowing their premises in the Cairns Corporate Tower, The Copy Shop was relocated to its present location in Grafton Street in the early 1990’s.

In August of 1999 Scott Wellington purchased The Copy Shop from its then current owners. The Copy Shop has always been owner operated and will continue to be that way, offering personalised service to our clients.

Over the years The Copy Shop has evolved and undertaken many changes to cater for the changing business needs of the Cairns Region. The largest change coming in 2004 with a complete refit and the change of business name to BME24-7. Fundamentally the core business remained the same during these changes, but we added, access to our retail copiers 24 hours a day 7 days a week, with security coded access cards and mail boxes that enabled us to accept deliveries on behalf of our key holders, a mail forwarding service, and fax and email distribution. We also added stationery to our retail area and for our corporate customers.

It’s funny how some things change and some stay the same, we still would get at least one customer call each day and ask “Is that The Copy Shop” even though we had answered the phone “BME 24-7”.

This bought about the decision to change our name again, incorporating both business ideas bringing us to “Copy Shop Business Centre” as we are known today with our catch cry “Business Made Easy”. Giving our customers the best of both worlds, still available are our core services, copying colour and black and white, laminating, binding etc, with the added extras of stationery, large format poster and plan printing, offset printing and high quality laser printing.

We are still very proudly locally owned and operated and no job is too big or small for us here at Copy Shop Business Centre.
